“Whispers of Autumn” is a tender celebration of seasonal change — a still life infused with warmth, elegance, and quiet reflection. Inspired by the golden glow of late autumn afternoons, I set out to capture that magical moment when the fading light transforms ordinary objects into poetry.
This piece was born from my deep admiration for classical still life but reimagined through a more romantic, slightly impressionistic lens. The glowing blue vase became the focal point around which I carefully arranged fruits and a glass of wine, framed by a window overlooking a softly burning autumn forest. I wanted the viewer to feel as though they were stepping into a peaceful interior, savoring a serene moment with nature gently whispering just beyond the glass.
I used a real antique vase that belonged me as inspiration for the central object. Its striking turquoise hue always reminded me of calmness in contrast to the vivid warmth of autumn — a perfect balance.
I worked in delicate layers of glazing and dry brushing to achieve the richness of the textures, especially in the reflections on glass and the diffused evening sky outside.
